"Steve's Lava Chicken" is a song from A Minecraft Movie performed by actor Jack Black as his character Steve that begins with the lyrics, "La-la-la-lava, ch-ch-ch-chicken." The song is featured in a scene in which Steve shows the other protagonists a restaurant he's built that drops lava on chickens' heads to cook them. It was first posted online in late March 2025 and became the subject of memes over the following weeks. Some have compared the virality of the song to the 2023 Super Mario Bros. Movie "Peaches," which is also sung by Jack Black.

On March 28th, 2025, the WaterTower Music YouTube[1] channel released the official recording of "Steve's Lava Chicken" from A Minecraft Movie, garnering over a million views in roughly two weeks.
The full scene from the film that features the song, in which Steve shows off his restaurant that cooks chickens by dropping lava on them, was later uploaded by YouTuber[2] Billion Plus, garnering over 1.4 million views in four days.

The "Steve's Lava Chicken" song inspired numerous memes and reactions leading up to and following the release of the movie in early April 2025.
On April 3rd, 2025, TikToker[3] @thatnerdmarquitos posted a video lip-syncing to the song under the caption, "'The Minecraft movie looks trash' dudes after hearing this banger on April 4th," garnering over 3 million views in six days.
On April 5th, Redditor u/Professional-Art932 posted the lyrics to the song on the /r/Minecraft[4] subreddit, garnering over 280 upvotes in four days.
On the same day, TikToker[5] @g1g1bytes posted a video in which they built the "Steve's Lava Chicken" building in Minecraft, garnering over 4 million views in the same span of time.
On April 8th, 2025, X[6] user @dillfem101 posted an original animation based on the scene and song, garnering over 62,000 likes in a day. That same day, YouTuber[7] Davie504 posted a video playing the song on bass, garnering over 95,000 views in a day.
